Here is why:

There are a lot of canvas printing services that you can find. Most of these services are used to hasten the process of printing photographs onto canvas.

Usually the photos are produced on an artist's canvas using brilliant archival inks. They look very good, but the canvas is made of cotton without a special protective coating. To obtain an image of quality, they are also printed with water based archival link.

If the print doesn't have a protective coating over the ink, it will be very vulnerable. It will be damaged specially by moisture. The smallest drop of water will cause the print to be ruined and it will be easily scratched while dusting or cleaning.

Protective coating will increase the durability of the canvas and will make the colors more vibrant. At Advanced Photo Lab, we print the canvas and allow it to dry for 24 hours, We then apply a few protective coats to the canvas, Each time it makes several hours to completely dry. This process takes 3 to 4 days to obtain a finished product.

Because of this, we do not offer rushed services on our canvas printing. Even if you are not using Advanced Photo Lab to print your canvas, make sure that it is done professionally.

Ask them about their procedures. Some places do not offer services for protective coating.
